Setswana Language


Seswana is a Bantu language spoken by about 4.4 million people in Bostwana, where it is the national and majority language, Namibia, Zimbabwe and South Africa. Setswana is closely related to Southern and Northern Sotho, and is spoken by the Batswana people.

Setswana speakers form the fifth-largest language group in South Africa. It is spoken by about 8% of the total population, which is more than 4 million folk, and is one of 11 official languages.
